Cassona Global Imaging Limited has donated rice and oil worth ¢16,000 to the Muslim community at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi to support them ahead of the Ramadan fasting season.
The donation, which included about 150 bags of 4kg rice and the same quantity of cooking oil, was presented as part of the company's corporate social responsibility to help students of the Muslim community prepare for the Holy month.

Speaking during the presentation, the Administrative Assistant of Cassona Global Imaging, Kumasi Branch, Mavis Asamoah, said the company considered community support as part of its responsibility as a healthcare institution.
"As a healthcare institution, we believe that community care is also part of our social responsibility," she said.
She explained that the donation was made to support Muslims as Ramadan approaches, adding that the company wanted to contribute to their fasting "in a meaningful way."
She further noted that although Cassona focuses mainly on diagnostic medical imaging services, it also prioritises the welfare of the people.
"Cassona is about supplying diagnostic medical imaging, but we go beyond that. We also do donations. It is more about the welfare of the people," she stated.

Mavis Asamoah also highlighted that the company is working to make medical imaging equipment accessible across the country, especially in hospitals that lack CT scans, MRI machines, ultrasounds and other essential diagnostic tools.
"Our focus is on making diagnostic medical imaging accessible to the ordinary Ghanaian, the ordinary African," she stressed.

The Administrative Assistant announced that Cassona plans to expand its services in 2026 to cover all regions in Ghana and other parts of West Africa.
"2026 is going to be more of an extension of services. We are looking at extending our services to all regions in Ghana and in other parts of West Africa," she added.
She also disclosed that the company is preparing to organise a Cassona Healthcare Conference in 2026, which will bring together experts and professionals in medical imaging to discuss ways to advance medical technology and improve healthcare delivery in Africa.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Muslim community, the Chief Imam of the Ghana Muslim Students Association (GMSA) at KNUST, Abdul Latif Timothy, expressed gratitude to the company and described the donation as timely and important.
"This coming month of Ramadan is one of the best months for Muslims," he said.
He explained that feeding those who fast is one of the best deeds during Ramadan, and therefore, the donation would bring great benefit to students and community members.
"This donation from Cassona is one of the best deeds that's going to happen within the month of Ramadan," he stated.
He noted that many students struggle financially, and the support would help them during the fasting period.
"We are students, and some of us are struggling in one way or the other, and so it's really going to help them with their fast," he added.
He thanked Cassona for the continued support, noting that it was not the first time the company had donated to the Muslim community.
"Last year we received it, and this year too we have received it," he said.
He prayed for blessings upon the company and its leadership.
